Dalmore 18 Year Single Malt Whisky

Not satisfied with downing the same old dram? Then shake things up with the lush sherry flavors of the Dalmore 18 Year Single Malt Whisky.

Ever since its establishment in 1839, the Dalmore distillery has been at the forefront of the Scotch whisky industry. In addition to occupying a virtually permanent place as one of Scotland’s top single malts, they have also been a favorite of collectors with some of their rarest expressions fetching exorbitant amounts at auction. Fortunately, one does not need to break the bank to enjoy the rich flavors of the brand thanks to their exquisite but more wallet-friendly core range.

Among their more premium offerings is the Dalmore 18 Year Single Malt Whisky, a robust Scotch brimming with bold sherry flavors. Made from 100% malted Scottish barley, the whisky spends the first 14 years of its maturation in ex-bourbon American oak casks before being transferred to used 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks to age for another 4 years to give it the distinctively sweet and fruity flavor profile associated with the Dalmore style.

Beautiful bronze in color, the whisky opens up with a welcoming nose of orange, sherry, almonds, malt, toffee, fresh bread, oak, and mild smoke, prepping your palate for the bursts of Old sherry flavors, spice, more oak, chocolate, coffee, orange zest, red wine, and a dash of iodine, wrapped up by a long and sweet finish consisting of pear, cinnamon, cocoa, and caramel.

A recipient of the Double Gold Medal at the 2011 and 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, there’s no denying that the Dalmore 18 Year Single Malt Whisky is the real deal when it comes to Scotch. So get yourself a bottle of this superbly sherried Highlands expression and get your money’s worth with every sip.
